awarded each year since 1992. The award seeks to promote literacy and lifelong
reading habits by encouraging students to read quality, contemporary literature.
Reading committees of school and public librarians, and other interested
members of the Maryland Association of School Librarians (MASL) meet to
determine which books will be nominated and placed on student reading lists.

From the Yearbook Club
Underclassmen (9th-11th graders) will be taking portraits in the
auditorium on Tuesday 4/20, Wednesday 4/21, and Thursday 4/22.
Green cohort hybrid students will have the opportunity to take
pictures either during English/WCL classes on Tuesday 4/20, or during the
R&R break in the middle of the day. Grey cohort hybrid students will have
the same opportunities, but their picture day will be Thursday 4/22.
Photographers will be in the auditorium from 2-6 PM on Wednesday
4/21 for any virtual students who want to have their portraits taken. You will
need to sign up for a timeslot in order to be allowed into the school. The
signup genius is here:
If your underclassman does not want to have their portrait taken
at the school but still wish to be in the yearbook, they will need to submit a
picture through ybkplus.com Information for submitting pictures
through YBK+ can be located here: We have changed
the deadline for YBK+ portrait submission from Friday, April 9th to Friday,
April 30th.
If you have submitted a portrait through YBK+ and also get your
portrait taken at the school, the portraits taken at the school will take
priority in the yearbook.
